A building named after Joe Elder would be an ipiesrnd choice for ongoing generations of students and their families. On an emotional level, I'd feel a little more safe and secure about investing tuition money for my daughter in the moment when I'd be dropping her off at Elder Hall and it would be a great honor if my son were to learn even a little bit about how to be a strong and peaceful man along the lines of Joe. On a practical level, I think it shows a certain amount of character on the part of the University in terms of rewarding the loyal contributions of a tremendously dedicated Professor and this kind of architectural acknowledgment could go a long way toward inspiring more folks to benefit from such an extraordinary example. So, with the hope that someday my kids will be able to learn about a life truly well lived in the friendly confines of Elder Hall, my goes to Joe! — Joshua Home Edwards
